Plan Your Stay

Please find the bellow information on how to plan for your stay and everything you need to know, including the Bedroom Set Ups, House Rules, our “Book of Knowledge”, Floor and Garden plans.

Shopping Deliveries

Ocado, Waitrose, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's will deliver to Sugnall Hall, and we can receive the delivery on the day of your arrival and put it away in the kitchen for you, before you arrive. Please just let us know when to expect it. The delivery address to be used is Sugnall Hall, Sugnall, Staffordshire, ST21 6NF, there is no street name.

House Rules

  • Fire precautions and procedures apply. Details of fire procedures will be given at check-in and is found on the backs of the doors.

  • No Stag/Hen parties please, or under-30 Birthday Parties.

  • We please ask you to have respect for the interior décor. Please, no touching of the expensive Drawing Room wallpaper, or the swords and objets d’art in the Old Billiard Room. The china service in the Dining Room is for display only.

  • No smoking: smoking is prohibited throughout the Hall and there are smoke detectors throughout the building. If you smoke outside, please make sure your ash and butts are put out properly and disposed of in the sand tubs provided.

  • Tenants live in some of our outbuildings and we ask that noise is kept to a reasonable level after 11pm.

  • Fireworks may frighten farm animals, and Chinese lanterns can cause them harm; both are not permitted.

  • Jacuzzi: please adhere to the guidance concerning the hot tub: this is included in the ‘Book of Knowledge’.

  • Dogs (maximum three) should be kept on the ground floor, and not allowed on any furniture or upstairs. You will find that there are many opportunities for walking dogs on a lead in the garden or around the Estate. They may eat and sleep in the back kitchen when not in use. Their sleeping accommodation can be provided by kennels half a mile away, or (in summer) in kennels in the back yard outside the Hall.

Please be aware the owners flat is adjacent to the kitchen through a locked door. Please do not enter the private garden on the other side of the yew hedge.

Polite Note to Dogs

Please keep your owner on a lead in the presence of livestock, and ask them to remove your poo. There is a charge for any not collected and disposed of.


Damage

The cost of rectifying any damage or extra housework will be docked from the Cautionary Deposit we ask you to pay. Replacement keys or missing items will also be charged. Damage in the past that has been charged for has included wine stains on the wallpaper, spillage on carpets, stiletto heel marks on wooden floors, and missing items.


Children

For younger children we have a cot, an inflatable bed and a highchair. Children are free to run around the garden where they will find many places of interest, including ‘The Little House’ which was once a playhouse for children. A lawn near the rhubarb patch has been set aside especially for younger children. For older children, we have a variety of board games and televisions indoors.
