About Us

Part of the wider Sugnall Estate, Sugnall Hall is a large country house venue, available for short stays, weddings and day hire, in the middle of the Staffordshire countryside. It dates from the 1780s and has been lived in by the same family since 1893. In 2016 the decision was made to open it up to the public for short stays, so that many more people may enjoy it and make special memories there.

We are able to sleep up to 28 people, most with en-suite bathrooms, and our large Old Billiard Room can hold up to 40 seated or 60 standing – ideal for larger meals, concerts, recitals etc, with the 12 seater dining room, and extravagant Drawing room.

We are available to hire for a 2- or 3-day weekend, or a week's stay, as well as for day and/or evening rentals during the week.

With its 14 bedrooms (most with en suite bathrooms), its location in the heart of the Midlands, and just a 15-minute drive from junction 14/15 of the M6, it makes a perfect location for a get-together, wedding or retreat.

There are beautiful panoramic views of the countryside as far as The Wrekin, in Shropshire near the boarder with Wales, and four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, designed by a well-known garden historian who has designed or restored many gardens for historical houses and palaces, including the Privy Garden at Hampton Court.

There is enough parking for up to 50 cars on the adjoining parking field, (extra parking is available a 3-minute walk away).

During your stay you are welcome to roam much of the larger 1,300 acre Sugnall Estate, including the Walled Garden, and our woodland walks and wild pools.
