Meetings

The Billiard Room and the Dining Room are both suitable for meetings, though only 14 can sit around the Dining Room table. Around 80 can be seated in the Billiard Room in a variety of configurations. A large screen is available and can be moved. It has an inbuilt computer, so can be used for PowerPoint presentations, and has access to the WiFi and thus television programmes and Netflix.

Reading

There are several book collections in the house, and there is wi-fi throughout.

Music or Film

The Billiard Room is acoustically good, and suitable for musical events. The big screen can be used for showing streamed and downloaded films.

Jacuzzi

There is a seven seater hot tub in the open air just outside the Flower Passage. If you want to use it make sure to confirm this with the housekeeper.

Fine Dining

When a formal set-piece meal is part of the event, caterers can set up either the Dining Room (up to 16 place settings) or the Billiard Room (up to 40 place settings) and serve them from the caterers’ kitchen.
We have the names of several caterers, and can advise and assist you to choose one who will fulfil your wishes.

Gardens

The hall is set within 4 acres of gardens with many places to retire to in peace and quiet. Foremost amongst these is the Flower Garden with its centrepiece of roses, herbaceous borders, summerhouse and curved benches. There is croquet on the front lawn (the owner might teach you if you need help) and a grass tennis court in the Arboretum area. At the other end of the garden is the orchard, a mount within the Dog’s Cemetery, and The Little House, a genuine seventeenth-century one-up, one-down, workman’s cottage.
The Broad Walk down the parterre has an out-door dining table for 10, with other tables available nearby. A barbeque is available, with gas supplied.

Activities

There is a seven seater hot tub in the open air just outside the Flower Passage. If you want to use it make sure to confirm this with the housekeeper.
There is also a games room with table soccer and a pool table.

Walled Garden

The estate’s walled kitchen garden with its marquee and tea room is a short walk away, and beyond are wooded walks past pools to a lake through delightful countryside.

The historic 2-acre walled garden was built in the early eighteenth century to supply fruit, vegetables and herbs to the original hall, but over the years fell into disrepair.

Eight years ago the owner embarked on the restoration of the walled garden and today it is once again productive as well as becoming a stunning backdrop for stylish country weddings.

The walled garden’s Tea Room is open every day of the year from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm (10.00 am till 2.00 pm Nov-Feb), except Christmas Day and wedding days.

Walks

There is a network of footpaths in the park and woods at Sugnall. A map is available from the Tea Room.
For wildlife interest, there is the board walk at Walk Mill one and a half miles away allowing you to explore the marshes and the stream, and the badger sets and bluebells in Jacksons Coppice a bit further on.
