The information below should help you in fine-tuning your stay, especially on those matters that need prior booking.

We have a list of local suppliers and can help organise activities, spa treatments, child care, shooting, fishing, photographers, flowers, etc. Just ask.

When you arrive at Sugnall we will welcome you to it, explain the layout and answer any queries. We maintain a 24/7 presence nearby and so you can always have access to the owner or a member of staff. Many details are in a handbook which we will give you on arrival.

Numbers

The booking options are either a small party, requiring up to 8 rooms (max. 16 people), or a large party up to 14 (max. 28 people).Some beds are ‘zip and link’ and so convertible between a double or two singles. The beds can be made up either way as requested during the reservation process.

Location Accessibility

We will send you details on how to find us once you have made your reservation. In brief, we are 8 miles from Junction 14 on the M6, and 12 miles from Junction 15.

If you are arriving by train, the nearest station is Stafford, 10 miles away. The service from London Euston is excellent, taking only 1 hour 15 minutes. There are generally plenty of taxis at the station, but we can arrange to have you picked up if you prefer (that way the taxi doesn’t get lost in the countryside!). There are also good stations at Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe, though each is significantly further for your taxi.

If you are coming to Britain by air, the nearest airports are Manchester and Birmingham International, each about 45 minutes away by road. There are trains from Birmingham International to Stafford, changing in Birmingham.

Booking Periods

A weekend stay will normally include Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. A weekday stay would cover Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Our normal check-in time is 4.00 pm, and check-out time is 10.00 am to allow the housekeepers to enter, though bags can be left by arrangement.

Subject to other reservations, we can be flexible.

Children

For younger children we have a cot, a high chair and a gated play area. They are free to run around the garden where they will find many places of interest, including ‘The Little House’ which they may go into on request.

For older children, there are board games and televisions indoors. Teenagers may like to participate in the Activities below or retire to the games room with its table tennis table and bar football.

Dogs

Dogs (max. two) should be kept on ground floor level. You will find that there are many opportunities for walking them on lead in the garden and on walks around the estate. Their sleeping accommodation can be provided by kennels, half a mile away, or (in summer) in kennels in a back yard behind the hall.
